My IMATS 2013 Experience & Haul

IMATS is the International Makeup Artists Trade Show. I have also been to it in 2010 and 2011. I love this particular trade show because it also includes professional classes. I learn so much every time. Here is my latest experience and a couple of things I picked up.

Holiday VoxBox: Goody Hairbrush Review

I love the idea of this hairbrush. It is suppose to help dry your hair faster. It says that it can be used with or without a blow dryer.

I don't blow dry my hair so I was excited to try this. It doesn't really work all that well without a blow dryer. it does dry some of your hair but once the microfibers become went they are useless. They need the hot air to dry them as you are using it.

I ended up giving it to my sister and she told me it works much better with a blow dryer.

Deep Cleaning your Makeup Brushes

This is how I deep clean my makeup brushes. If you do it properly they will last a long time. Many of my MAC brushes are 10 years old and still look new.

Update: New Year!

Happy belated New Year everyone. Sorry I have been MIA on here, but my life has been super busy. Between the holidays, going out of town, work, and tests I just haven't had much free time to sit down and write. Things should be settling down real soon and I have a list of blogs that I want to write. I would also love it if you would make requests. I want this blog to be something we both enjoy. I hope you are having a great January. =*

HBCooks: Green Bean Casserole

In this recipe I take the standard green bean casserole recipe and add some fresh ingredients to make it even better! This is enough to to serve about 5-10 people.

Ingredients:

2lbs. Fresh Green Beans
2 cans of Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 regular size can of French Fried Onions
1 1/2 cups of Milk
1-2 cups of Shredded Cheese
1-2 cups Fresh Mushrooms diced
1 cup Onion (any color) diced
5-7 strips of Bacon cooked and diced
Salt and Pepper

Variation:

If you like your green beans less crunching blanch them before adding them to the casserole. (Blanching is cooking the beans and then cooling them off fast with really cold water.)

Holiday Memories: Christmas Day

Yesterday I told you about my favorite Christmas Eve memory and today since it's Christmas I thought I would share my favorite Christmas memory. =)

I think every kid has written a letter to Santa Claus but how many have had Santa write them a letter back? Well, in my house Santa always did and I loved it! I recently found some of the letters and posted one on Twitter and Instagram and I will post it below.
