About a month ago I started a series on my Youtube channel called Makeup 101. I decided to create this series because many of my friends and family have asked me about the basics of makeup. I know that when I started sing makeup I had no idea what certain terms meant or what I was doing in general. My hope is that these videos help beginners understand the basic application of makeup, and even some of the more advanced makeup techniques. New videos will be added every week. The first video is all about foundation
The second video is all about contouring, blush, highlighting, and bronzer
The third video is about the importance of eye primer

Back in December I told you that I was going to cancel my subscription to Birchbox and that I would explain why later. Sorry it took me so long, but here is my explanation. The main reason is that I am trying to save money. Last year I had prepaid for a full year, and I just could not afford to do it again. Second, if you have watched my Birchbox opening videos you'll have noticed that the quality of the boxes have gone down quite a bit. Most of the products are either super tiny samples or just something I will not use. Yes, there is usually one product I am excited about, but not enough to justify spending $10 a month. Third, I have so many samples to still try. I literally have a box full of samples that I would like to get rid of before I start adding more. Fourth, I want to try other subscription services. My plan is to take a few months off and then try 3-4 other services. I am thinking of trying GlossyBox, Ipsy, and BeautyArmy. What subscription services have you heard a lot about or tried and liked?

These masks are so awesome! They smell great and work well. I received this one in my Influenster Holiday VoxBox but I have tried them before. The one I received was in Fruit Smoothie and I literally wanted to eat my face because it smelled so good!! I have also tried the chocolate one. =)
I received this product in an Influenster Holiday VoxBox. This was the first NYC lipgloss I had ever used. (I love NYC bronzer!) I really like that it is such a neutral color, but I wish they had color labels on the glosses. I am able to wear it on its own or layer it with a nice pink or berry lipstick. It lasts about as long as any other lipgloss. It has a paddle applicator, which I like. The only real downside is that it is a bit sticky, which I don't like.
Being an NYC product they are super affordable and readily available at the drugstore. I am definitely going to be trying out more colors! Grade: B+
